Kingfisher Bay Resort  Regatta

This regatta is sailed on the Friday and Saturday of the Fraser Coast regional show weekend in May. The regatta is based at the Kingfisher Bay Resort, K'Gari Island, and sailed in the Great Sandy Strait. The regatta is open to all trailer sailers, keeled yachts, and multihulls.

Program

Pre-regatta Social - Thursday night

All participants are invited to The Boat Club for drinks and a meal. Where: On the deck or inside in the Bistro if the weather is inclement. Lucky draw prizes are held during the evening.

Saturday and Sunday

The first race sails from Urangan to the resort on K'Gari Island.

The following day consists of a buoy race and passage race with a presentation in the evening at the Kingfisherfisher Bay Resort Sand Bar. The final day is a sail back to Urangan Harbour at your leisure.

Facilities

The Kingfisher Bay Resort provides fabulous facilities for the regatta. Competitors may choose to stay on their yachts anchored in front of the resort. The resort's Sand Bar has amenities, a restaurant and a pool available to all competitors. For a more comfortable option, the villas or hotel rooms may be booked at a regatta-discounted price.
